Hurston Work Party Sept 2009

This latest work party at Hurston saw a mixture of old and new faces again. Amongst the new faces we were fortunate to have a cross selection of members including one of our juniors, young Jack Horton who incidentally never stopped from the moment he got there and along with dad Trevor was also one of the last to pack up. We also had a lady member who got stuck in alongside her husband as well. In fact yet again they all proved to be an enthusiastic and friendly bunch.

Jack recovered these floats – Just reward we say!

Everyone thought the majority of the weed had been removed from the Carp Pond at the last work party but if you saw what these guys got out today you’d be surprised how much was still left in there to be removed. We also had a good trim up of the paths and burnt a lot of the debris not just from today but also from the previous work parties.

Thanks again to Mick for supplying us with sustenance from his travelling BBQ. All in all it was a very successful work party and on behalf of all our members a big thank you goes out to those who have attended work parties during these last few weeks.

For those that wanted to, but couldn’t attend any of our recent work parties, you still have a chance this year because we have decided whilst we have the momentum and enthusiasm to arrange another work party at Hurston Lane for Sunday October 4th. Times and tools needed as before, a reminder will be put on the Home page nearer the date.
