This match was the second and final round of the Charles Tankard and was fished under warm sunny conditions. As in the previous round the best pegs on the lake were used. Weights were made up mainly of carp although there were some good roach caught including one of 1-3-8 caught by Phil Tubb.

Mick Greenway drew Peg 2 and was not a happy bunny as he had always struggled when he had drawn this peg previously. However he ended up catching 7 carp weighing 18-10-0 to win the match. The fish were all caught on the long pole with six of these caught close to the island on meat and the other one on paste from under the bush to the left of the swim.

Keith Hughes was fishing Peg 1 and used meat and paste on the long pole to catch 5lb of silvers plus carp to weigh in 16-4-8 and take second place.

Vince Herringshaw was in third place fishing peg 13. He catch of 12-13-8 was equally split between silverfish and carp.

Overall the Charles Tankard was won by Mick with two wins (20 points) from Vince with 17 points.
