I thought I might be a little fragile after a trip to Twickenham to see England versus France in the 6 nations so I had handed the match kit over to Keith and Vince just in case. This did prove to be the case – well you do have to celebrate a magnificent victory over the French don’t you. In the event Vince didn’t make it either due to car problems so it was left to Keith to organise, so the report this week comes from him.

I would just like to thank Keith for helping out, many thanks.

We had a white start with overnight frost north of the downs. 11 members fished, and I pegged 6 along the river side and 5 around the back. Bit of a slow start, with the sun coming out about 11.30 the first carp came to John Williams from the reeds on the river side. A few more carp and some bits from all over the Lake. At approximately 1.30pm the rain came down BIG TIME and in the last hour and 1/2 we had about 4mm, with John Williams going to the car for the last hour.

1st was relative newcomer Steve Hanson with 11 – 0 – 0 from the back of the island fishing an inside line on edge pole. He only had two fish the best being a common carp of 8lb.

Despite retiring to his car for the end of the match John Williams was 2nd with two carp for 5 – 14 – 0 from the reeds on the river side fishing pellet on the pole.

Keeping it in the family John Hanson was 3rd with 3 – 14 – 0 from far end peg around the back, fishing the tip with corn along back bank.
