Another dry match day for the second round of the Kirkby Bott trophy on the River Arun at Watersfield. Again the same pegs as used in the first match were utilised. This time the river did not come up so far as the first match so the anglers could fish lower down the bank and not worry about getting wet feet or swamped tackle boxes. There were some good bags of silverfish and these were spread along the match length with 5 anglers catching over 4lb of roach and dace.

Fishing the swim upstream of the mint swim was Steve Simmonds who fished an Avon float on rod and line and maggot to catch 9-6-8. This easily won him the match.

In second place was Keith Hughes, who continued his run of good form. He fished the swim between the two bushes and used a flat float on the pole to catch 4-13-8 of roach, dace and skimmers.

Ray Huskisson was fishing the furthest upstream peg and weighed in 4-8-0 of roach and dace caught on the feeder.
