This second leg match was fished down from the A27 road bridge. Although the very wet and windy weather put off a few of our regular matchmen the numbers were augmented with a few Portsmouth and District Angling Society members who had been invited to fish.

The eventual winner was a PDAS member, Alan Templeman, who somehow managed to fish the pole, at about 7 metres, in the very strong winds. Alan caught small roach and skimmers steadily throughout the match on double white squatt hookbait over groundbait.

Second was Steve Jeffery, fishing the next peg to Alan. Steve opted for the waggler and was matching Alan fish for fish for most of the match, but as the weather improved the fish backed off the waggler and he struggled to catch consistently on the pole as he had not fed a middle line earlier on.

Third was Steve Simmonds who fished the waggler for most of the match , however he did have a switch to the whip as and when the wind allowed. Steve caught small roach and one skimmer.

After two legs of the four for the Lec Cup both Steve Simmonds and Steve Jeffery have 19 points.
