The first leg of Moss Cup, the evening match series on the Rother, was held at Fittleworth on yet another very warm and sunny evening. As usual it was a walkoff. Mixed catches were had and a particular welcome sign was the number of gudgeon caught. Several anglers also had problems with pike.
In first place was Keith Hughes fishing the first swim after the stile. He used the pole to catch a bream plus roach and dace weighing 4-6-0.
Very close behind in second place was Mick Greenway who was fishing Mike Kitchener’s swim and trotted a stick float to catch roach and dace weighing 4-4-0.
Steve Simmonds was fishing the throat swim and caught roach and dace weighing 3-2-8.
