I was on holiday for this one so I had left Vince & Mick a set of instructions for the drawing of pairs and pegs. Looking back at them you probably need a degree in maths to work them out!
The water levels across both lakes at Walberton were very low Cart in particular was lower than anyone can remember since the lake was filled. A combination of virtually no rain and probably a leak are the culprits. This didn’t stop the lake from producing some good weights however.
Top weight on Cart Pond and top weight overall was Denis Hurley. Dennis drew peg 22 which has consistently produced good weights this season. Dennis had a couple of small carp and plenty of silver fish for 13 – 13 – 8.
In second place on Cart was Dave Herbert in peg 16 who had a couple of small carp for 5 – 5 – 0. Peg 16 is very much an acquired taste as the carp have plenty of snags to run to, even getting two out is no mean feat.
On Stemps the two best known pegs on the lake prevailed with Vince in peg 1 just bettering Steve Speller on peg 15 by 12 – 5 – 8 to 11 – 7 – 4.
Catch of the day was agreed as John Sheppard’s net of quality roach with some very nice fish in his 9lb.
