Trout Fishing on the Rother

Apart from specimen coarse fish our stretches of the Rother hold some very good trout too, both migratory Sea Trout and native Brown Trout..

Having had some large Brown Trout from the Rother in recent autumn/winter sessions (see below) whilst Chub fishing I thought I’d give my light 4# weight fly tackle an airing pre coarse season.

The results weren’t quite as intended (see below). But a Rother Trout on the fly can be ticked off the list…
