With the Rother carrying a bit of colour and much needed extra water from the recent rains Bailiff Mike Kitchener decided to tackle our Fittleworth stretch in search of a Barbel.

Despite the risk of a soaking from the forecast heavy rains and strong winds Kitchy legered a large lump of meat in his chosen swim and was rewarded with this handsome fully scaled Mirror of 7lb 10oz which was in his own words ‘a great little scrapper, well worth getting wet for’
