A Barbel weighing 18lb has been caught from our stretch of the Arun at Watersfield. The captor was Ashley Kent fishing on a Billingshurst AS exchange ticket. The specimen fish was witnessed and weighed by one of our own Members, Paul Barker, who accompanied Ashley to the venue.

This is the latest and also the largest of several double figure Barbel reportedly caught from this venue so far this season. This capture emphasises just what an amazing river the Arun is, capable of producing specimens of a variety of freshwater species as well as good sized Mullet and Sea Trout.
