A Barbel at Last

Phillip Blunsum had this Club Record equalling Barbel of 18lb 6oz at Watersfield just before the end of the season when the river had fined down after all the flooding. It was a warm evening and the temperatures were rising when the specimen picked up his double 12mm pellet and paste hookbait.
Phillip was using a swimfeeder rig fishing clipped up with an ACS reel in order to hit the same spot each time and had several decent bream to around 6lb before the barbel came along.

Phillip who has been fishing for Barbel at Watersfield for the last couple of seasons without any joy said ‘It is so nice to get one finally, in fact I’m elated at catching one this size’
