A Barbel for Kitch
Conditions have been far from ideal the last couple of months with our stillwaters often frozen and the rivers in flood. Taking advantage of a recent rise in temperatures and with the river fining down after the most recent flood Rother Bailiff Mike Kitchener decided to try his luck today at Coultershaw.
Kitchy was rewarded with one of the Rothers’ hard fighting Barbel, not quite a double at 9lb 14oz but a great start to his 2011 angling campaign.
Hopefully this capture will encourage a few more members onto the banks, it is after all, usually at this time of year and in these conditions that the larger specimens are banked.
