New Personal Best Chub From The Arun

Steve Warner caught the 5lb 6oz Chub pictured below whilst long trotting maggot using a forty year old centre pin matched with a modern 15ft float rod.

Steve’s fish, a new personal best for the species, was in excellent condition and put his tackle to the test. Fishing buddy Ben Sharman who took the photo of Steve’s fish also had success himself using a maggot feeder taking one of around 4½ lb.

Steve is no stranger to specimen fish from the Arun, having had Barbel to 17lb 3oz and roach to just under 3lb in the last couple of seasons. This latest PB must put him in strong contention for this season’s Specimen Cup once again.
