Rother Barbel Record Smashed

New member Ian Duffy is really enjoying his first season on our club waters, and little wonder, having previously broken his PB Barbel record with a 14lb 1oz fish on the Rother in October he has certainly been putting in some hours on the bank since.

Today those hours of dedication really paid off as he absolutely smashed his PB by landing the incredible 18lb 9oz specimen above, again on the Rother. The fish put up an incredible fight and Ian was staggered by the size and weight of the fish when it was netted and witnessed by a fellow club member.
Not only has Ian’s magnificent specimen broken the Rother Barbel record it also beats the biggest taken by a club member from the River Arun by 3oz.
