Steve Gray, our Shopham bailiff is running a work party there on Sunday 9th May. It is planned to cut back the brambles in the fenced off area immediately downstream of the bridge on the north bank including improving access to swims in that area. There will be general work improving access to swims and cutting back vegetation along The river. The fish refuge upstream of the bridge on the south bank has got overgrown and this needs tidying up. Steve also hopes to repair the fence at the entrance to the riffle area and try and sort the overhanging tree branches upstream of the bridge. The work party is scheduled to start between 8.00 am and 8.30 am and it would useful if you could bring general gardening tools such as spades, loppers and rakes.
