Match Report
This was a joint match with the Sportsman club and as always the turnout was high leaving just a few gaps on the 31 peg venue. The weather had taken a turn in the last week with colder nights and rain, this along with the amount of people fishing this was going to make things a little harder than normal.
Paul Ward fishing peg 20 which is normally a framing peg. He fished about 4 or 5 spots around his peg taking 1 or 2 fish and then having to move to keep a steady flow coming for the whole match. The tactic paid off and his 47lb secured first place.
Vince fishing peg 23 fished to the end of the island managed to keep the fish feeding for most of the match but only the smaller Carp with no bonus edge fish. His weight of 30lb 8ozĀ gave him second place.
Keith fishing peg 14 found it hard going from the start with only 10Ib in the net in the first 5 hours. After feeding tight to his platform in around 18″ of water spotted some fish moving in and out so spent the last hour fishing corn close in and managed to get 3 bonus fish for a final total of 22lb 1oz and third place
