Match Report

This match the second leg of the Charles Tankard was fished on Stemps Pond. It was another fine, sunny warm evening and the carp seemed to be happily swimming on the surface on the lake but not feeding.

Keith Hughes was fishing Peg 1 and concentrated on catching carp. He managed to get one of 2-13-0 out and this with two skimmers and bits caught on the long pole weighed 5-14-0 to win the match.

John Sheppard on Peg 7 used his whip to catch 4-0-0 of roach. These were mainly small fish as John did not seem to find the bigger roach, he normally catches, feeding.

On Peg 15 was Mick Greenway and like Keith set his stall out on catching carp but had a disaster of a night losing 5 carp and a 2lb+ eel fishing meat on the pole. He did catch some bits to weigh in 1-5-0.

Overall the Charles Tankard was won by Keith Hughes with two wins from John Sheppard with two seconds.
