Match Report
Only 6 turned up for the 1st leg of the LEC Cup at Hunston due to anglers being on holidays, working or not liking the constant flow of walkers and particularly cyclists along the tow path. Keith and myself pegged the match down from Hunston to try and find the bream that had been present in the area during previous evening matches. We walked a long way before putting out the first peg as the lilies on the inside had grown considerably making access to the water difficult. The water was very clear and all indications were that it would be a hard match. Some anglers had to do some gardening, to get access to the water, as the bankside vegetation had also grown up this summer. We were hoping for catches of skimmer bream if the larger bream did not show. However the most catches were mainly roach with Keith Hughes being the only one to find any number of skimmers.
Keith Hughes was on the end peg furthest away from the Hunston car park. He took advantage of this to catch 7-13-8 of skimmers on the long pole fishing the far shelf using casters and pellets.
In second place was Steve Simmonds with 2-8-4 of roach.
In joint third place were Paul Ward and Ray Huskisson with 2-7-12 of roach.
