Match Report
We had a good turnout for the 2nd leg of the LEC cup on the canal. We decided to fish from Hunston away from the city as we knew that the Rother club would be using the other section. Rother probably had the best of the fishing on the day as the fishing was a bit patchy and the weight disappointing.
Paul Ward drew the the first peg on the section just by the entrance and fishing a combination of the pole and the waggler managed to keep the fish going for longer than most and ended up with 6 – 8 – 0 to easily take first place.
Pretty much at the other end as far as our pegging was concerned was Keith Hughes who using similar tactics had 3 – 1 – 0 for 2nd place.
Just behind Keith in weight and next to Paul on the bank was Mick Greenway who again alternated between the pole and waggler and weighed 2 – 15 – 8 for third place.
Very unusually for the canal we actually had a couple of blanks on what was overall a slightly disappointing day.
