Match Report
This was the final match in the LEC series and we fished by the depth marker in the area where Steve has been having some good catches of roach. The forecast was for bright sunshine but fortunately it was overcast. There was a strong wind blowing but this was behind the anglers. The area was troubled by floating leaves and they only cleared from Vince’s swim as the wind was blowing through a gap in the hedge. Fishing was very slow and this year we have not really found the fish on the canal.
In first place was Vince Herringshaw fishing the end peg. He caught some small skimmers and roach weighing 2-4-4 on either the whip or the long pole using bread puch over liquidised bread.
Mick Greenway took second place with 1-4-4 of small roach caught on the long pole. He also used bread punch over liquidised bream and fished opposite the depth marker, next to Vince.
Keith Hughes was fishing the other end peg and used maggots or pinkies on the long pole to catch 1-3-8 of roach. He also lost a decent sized skimmer.
Overall the LEC series on the Chichester Canal was won by Mick Greenway (28 points) from Steve Simmonds (17 points)
