Match Report

This match was held in conjunction with the Sportsmans Club so the whole of Sumners Ribbon Lake was used. Unfortunately the temperature had dropped the previous couple of nights and this coupled with heavy rain had put the fish off, although everyone caught a barbel which the lake is noted for.

The Sportsman match was won 25lb (from a noted barbel peg) but the weights then dropped down to 12lb. The match was fished under very windy conditions but at least it remained dry. The wind dropped in the last hour and the weigh in was conducted in the rain which increased in intensity.

In first place fishing his first match with the club was Jon Arnold who caught 3 chub and a barbel, weighing 9-14-0, on the long pole using maggot or meat.

Second place was taken by Vince Herringshaw who caught 2 barbel and silverfish weighing 8-13-0.

Fishing next to Vince was Phil Tubb who caught 2 barbel plus skimmers weighing 7-5-0 to take third place.
