Match Report
This match was the second and final leg of the Millard Cup and was a two parter with separate carp and silverfish matches. Points collected in each of them were totalled to decide the final positions. The match was fished at the Granary where good catches of carp had been had. The main silverfish were rudd although there were odd perch caught, including one very small one which must had come from last year’s breeding.
Carp Match
In first place was Colin Bridger who caught 5 carp weighing 20-7-0 from the first swim on the golf course bank. He used the pole and method feeder to catch the fish.
Mick Greenway took second place with 6 carp caught on the pole using paste or hard pellet.
These weighed 19-14-0 and were caught from the first swim opposite the island on the other bank.
Mike Kitchener was in third place with 14-6-0 of carp
Silverfish Match
Mike Kitchener used the whip and maggot to take 10-3-8 of rudd and perch to easily take first place.
Vince Herringshaw also used the whip to take 7-5-8 of rudd and second place.
Mick Greenway was in third place with 2-9-8 of rudd, again caught on the whip
Overall Mike Kitchener won the match with 18 points from Mick (17 points) and Vince (16points).
The Milliard trophy was won overall by Mike Kitchener with 18 points from Mick with 16 points.
After 20 matches Mick Greenway (131 points) leads the Clubman from Keith Hughes (128 points). In the weight and matchman categories Mick ( 223-12-12 and 959 points) leads from Mike Kitchener (172-3-8 and 729 points)
