On another relatively mild day 12 anglers turned up for the random pairs match. Both Stemps and Cart were used for the match and the first task was to draw pairs. The six best pegs (as determined by previous match weights) on both lakes were identified and pairings of the highest rated peg on Stemps and the lowest rated on Cart made. This was carried out for the remaining five combinations. Pairs then drew their double pegs.

Cart Results
1st Richard Leduc fishing Peg 20 fished pellets and maggots over pellets to weigh in 8 – 13 – 4 of skimmers including several good sized ones

2nd Mick Greenway fishing Peg 31 weighed in 7 – 3 – 0. This was composed of 3 small carp caught on the long pole from the island using dead maggots and also roach/ skimmers caught on the whip using casters as bait. It was a good sign to see the small carp as it indicates that they are breeding in Cart.

3rd Vince Herringshaw fished Peg 27 and caught roach and skimmers weighing 6 – 13 – 0

Stemps Results
1st On Peg 1 was Andy May who caught 8 carp and a small amount of silverfish weighing 23 – 6 – 0. These were caught on the pole using punched meat as bait.

2nd Mike Kitchener was fishing on Peg 2 and caught 5 carp using the feeder close to the island. These coupled with almost three pound of silverfish weighed 15 – 14 – 0.

3rd Kevin Dowell was fishing Peg 7 and caught 4 carp using the feeder close to the island and five pound of silverfish on the long pole to weigh in 14 – 8 – 4.
