Match Report

Another cold morning with frost on the ground and a chily breeze. The pegging was done thinking Carp were going to come on the feed as the day went on. Cody drew peg 15 and we thought it was game over for the rest of us but the Carp did not switch on so the match opened right up to everyone.

Keith fishing peg 14 had 3 lines one on top 2 with bread punch, another more positive line at 9m with a ball of ground bite and the 3rd at 16+m tight on the island fed with a little corn and 2mm pellets. Fishing short on bread saw small Roach from the start, the 9m line saw Skimmers up to around 8oz and he had 1 small Carp from island just before the end. A total weight of 9lb 14oz was easily good enough for first place.

Richard in peg 1 went for Carp from the start but only had 3 bites and landed 2, 1 in the first 1/2 hour and the other in the last. 5lb 1oz gave him second place.

Graham in peg 11 had a couple of lines, one at around 5m and another at 10 / 11m. He  caught small Roach from start to finish. He did try a Carp line on the reeds but nothing showed, however his 3lb 0oz of small fish was enough for third place.
