11 anglers turned up for the second leg of the pole only match on Stemps. The weather was dry, cold (but not frosty) and windy. We had had frost on the previous nights and a hard match was expected. This proved to be the case as no carp were caught and catches were roach of varying sizes along with the odd skimmer.
The winner, Glenn Riley fished the long pole on peg 11 caught 2-7-8 of roach along with some skimmers, which he managed to catch in the last hour.
John Sheppard on peg 6 again showed his skill in catching the better quality roach on Stemps and weighed in 2-3-8 on his trusty whip. He had the opportunity to win the match but lost a pound roach at the net.
In third place was Keith Hughes with 2-2-0 of mainly roach caught short and at distance.
In a tight set of matches Glenn was the overall winner with 18 points (a win and a third) closely followed by runner-up Keith on 17points (a second and a third)
