Match Report

Match:  Silver / Carp 1
Venue:  Hurston Match Pond
Winner:  Keith Hughes
19 points
Runner Up:
Third:

Now this match takes a bit of explaining. As the water has a good head of carp but also plenty of silver fish, in order to encourage people to fish for all species we have our Silver / Carp matches where you have to catch some of each. The angler with the best Carp weight gets 10 points second gets 9 and so on down. The same with the Silver fish weights top weight gets 10 points second gets 9. Then you add the points up to get the winner. I know that both Glen and Phil really enjoy the added excitement of this format!!!

It’s not often that we get any action shots from matches as we are normally all far to busy fishing but just for a change

Keith Hughes is back on song with a easy first place in the Carp weights and a second in the Silver fish he won with 19 points.

Glen Riley was the top Silver fish angler on the day and lost a number of Carp which might have beaten Keith – but you have to land them Glen!

Gary Collins had a fairly desperate day with just one bite and one Carp but it did give him second place in Carp weights
