Yet another warm, dry evening greeted the anglers who turned up to fish the second match in the Stillwater Evening Series. The willow pollen I mentioned in the previous weeks report had all been blown up to the far end of the pond particularly around pegs 8 to 10. The anglers were spread evenly around the pond, but the fish seemed to like it in the area where there was a pollen cover. Catches consisted mainly of F1s including a lot of the small ones introduced earlier in the year- they seemed to have already started to grow. A small Tench was also caught
Gary Collins had the luck to draw peg 10 – he had drawn it the previous time we had fished in the spring and found the fish to his left. However, the fish were not in attendance in that area and Gary found them in the bay in front of him. He fished the pole with meat to weigh in 28-14-0 to easily win the match
Jon Arnold fished Peg 1 and used the pole to catch two F1s weighing 9-8-0 to come second.
Richard Garnham, on Peg 6 was third with two F1s weighing 7-13-0
After two matches Jon, with 19 points leads Gary on 18 points in the Evening Series.
