Match Report

A very hot evening greeted us for our first ever club evening match at Stanbridge View. Thanks to the booking system we knew everyone was there and we made the draw early to give us an extra 15 minutes setting up time.

Cody was not all that happy at the draw as he pulled out peg 25 down the canal part of the lake that does not normally do as well as the main bowl. None of us could see him, and with only one trip around to his Grandad for help untangleing a rig we did not know what a good evening he was having. His weight of 87lb 9oz consisted  of fish between 1Ib and 9Ib which was good for first place.

Jon drew the peg 4 a peg we would all have been happy with, as this peg is known to have very good edge fishing later in the day. After a slow start with only a couple of small carp in the net the edge came to life and Jon had some nice carp in the last couple of hours for 74lb and second place.

Vince drew peg 1, a peg he had drawn before so had a plan of attack. After the first 45 minutes without a bite it looked like a new plan was needed then all of a sudden things started to happen and he saw a steady flow of fish in the net until the final whistle, his 64lb 6oz secured third place.

Total weight from the 9 who fished was 435Ib, a nice way to end this season’s evening matches.
