A very wet morning greeted us in the car park with a forecast of rain until around midday, come draw time a 8am it had stopped and that’s the way it stayed all day and the sun even made an appearance for a time. We had a little work to do before the draw moving a platform back into place after it had floated off in the floods in the week along with clearing the paths. We pegged both sides of the lake but added in a few pegs we do not use normally.

Mick, drew peg 6 and did not seem very happy with it, but after getting stuck in he found a good net of silver fish along with 4 F1s. However come the weigh in he found that his net of silver fish estimated at around 2lb had diminished to just 5oz. On examining his keepnet, which was almost brand new he found a largeĀ  hole, obviously the result of a mouse in his tackle shed! The 5oz did prove vital as his total weight of 9lb 7oz was just enough to give him first place.

Keith, drew peg 9 and he was happy, after fishing that peg just over a week ago with some success. The spot that had held all the fish on his last visit was the starting point but no one was home. He ended up fishing different 3 lines for the rest of the match and found around 30 Roach, 1 Carp and 2 small F1s for 9lb 3oz and second place.

Richard, drew peg 10 always a fancied peg with plenty of options for both Carp and silver fish. He decided on an all out Carp approach and managed to hook and lose a few he finally got two in which together weighed exactly 9lb for third place.
