Match Report
A grey and chilly day was on the cards for the match at Hurston . With the lakes having been frozen solid until Thursday we were not sure how it would fish but the water looked OK with a bit of colour. The draw spread us around the lake with everyone having an empty peg next to them.
Once we started to mix some ground bait we knew it was going to be rock hard as the water was freezing cold.
Keith drew peg 14 a peg he had not had in a match for around 5 years and started by feeding a very negative line just a 10mm punch of groundbait at 5m out in front looking to pick up a few silverfish after leaving it to rest. Fishing to the end of the island with bread punch saw nothing and then over his 5m line also saw nothing. After 4 hours without a bite and every one in the same boat a pot of groundbait was sent out to the end of the Island and in the last 2 hours this resulted in 2 bites and 1 F1 landed.
Mick drawn on peg 1 was in the same boat as everyone else trying everything all over his peg, The only difference was he did manage 1 bite and a 1oz Perch around 10 minutes before the end.
