Match Report

A fine morning greeted us at Cart pond and the venue looked very nice and carried a little more water after Steve and Dave had replaced one of the outlet bungs. We pegged all around the pond leaving out peg 16 and the platforms that had been closed for repair work.

Keith drew peg 23  the Golden peg and started at around 5m fishing for the Skimmers but found it hard going. After about 40 minutes and with only 3 proper Skimmers in the net  he decided to change to fishing  the Island and saw a good run of small carp of between 4oz and 1 1/2Ib and started building a good weight. In the last hour another change to fishing in the mouth of the channel to his right on a line he had been feeding for the last couple of hours resulted in 2 Carp both around 8Ib. This gave a total of 38lb 15oz which was good for first place.

Cody was on peg 31 and fished towards a small patch of lilies that have popped up at around 10m out. He had a steady run of Carp up to around 5Ib using meat over pellet. He did lose around half of what he hooked in a thick weed bed at the end of the fallen tree, but his 25lb 12oz gave him second place.

Mick fishing from peg 17 started catching small Carp from the off using paste in the open water towards peg 16, but as the day went on they slowed down and he had to fish close to the end of the island and picked up the odd fish for the rest of the match for a total of 20lb 6oz and third place.
