A nice morning greeted us for our visit to Holmbush. We had to ask a member who was already fishing to leave, please remember to check the handbook before you set off to a venue on a Sunday. As only nine of us had decided to brave the heat that was forecast we pegged all the way along the concrete path from the second car park.

Keith, drew peg 13 (lucky for some)  and fished the pole at 5m in around 7 feet and another line at 11m with 9 feet but could only find small Roach and very small skimmers. In the last hour fishing tight to the bank on the right he hooked  three Carp, losing 2 one of which was around 20Ib. The  one he landed weighed in at 13Ib 2oz which together with his silver fish gave him a total of 17lb 5oz for first place.

Richard, drew peg 9 about halfway along the concrete path. He also fished the pole using caster and worm along with maggot and found one proper Bream, some skimmers and Roach. His 7lb 9oz total was just enough for second place

Graham,  drew the first peg No 6 – the disabled peg which prompted some humour, it was  also the golden peg for the day. He fished the pole at around 7m in 8 feet of water and found some nice skimmers along with Roach using sweetcorn maggot and worm and was just behind Richard with 7lb 8oz.
