Match Report

Hurston Tench Pond was the venue for the first evening match of the season and the Tench obliged providing the bulk of the weight for the top three anglers they come in all sizes at Hurston and you are never quite sure what you are going to get when you have a bite. It could be a fish of a few ounces or a 5 pounder consequently a number of tench were lost during the match as anglers were not able to control the bigger specimens.

In first place was Keith Hughes with 12 – 12 – 0 a mixed bag of Tench and Rudd.Steve Penticost was second with quite a few Rudd and his weight was boosted to 5 – 0 – 0 by a good sized Tench. Keeping it in the family in third place was Cody Hughes – Keith’s grandson who had 1 – 15 – 0 of small tench.
