A Session On The Canal April 2007

I fished from mid morning through to about 3 o’clock in the afternoon. I started by feeding a few pinkies on the inside line and chopped worm and caster with a small amount of groundbait on the far line. I started fishing the inside line and immediately found roach up to approximately 3oz. After a while I moved to the far line and very soon started catching skimmer bream around the 1lb mark. Feeding via a pot on every put in, I caught bream ranging from a couple of ounces through to 2 – 3lb steadily throughout the session. A couple of bonus tench helped swell the net to 38lb.

Venue : Chichester Canal

Location : Approximately 200yds towards Chichester from Hunston Bridge

Weather : Bright & Warm

Method : Pole – fished at the bottom of the inside shelf and the bottom of the far shelf.

Verdict : A good day’s canal fishing and I was surprised that I only saw two other anglers.
