Gordon Bolton caught this PB 12lb 10oz barbel during a recent session on the Rother with fishing buddy Nelson Keet. It was Gordon’s second barbel of the day after catching one of 6lb 3oz from the first cast.

Both were caught on Gordon’s own formula paste on a size 12 hook and were witnessed by Nelson who had 3 chub and a carp in the same session.

Ben Sharman looking delighted with a double figure Rother Barbel taken on an early season visit to our Coultershaw stretch.

Ben caught the stunning looking 10lb 14oz specimen using standard legering tactics with a safety clip which meant when it went through some snags all he lost was his lead and not his fish.

Ben also had several chub to nearly 5lb in the same session.

John Beales had this 4lb Tench on his latest visit to our Hurston Lane Fishery.

John caught the fish on a leger rod using sweetcorn as hookbait.

Ollie Kitchener age 7 caught this carp at Petworth Park whilst fishing with his Dad, Club Bailiff Mike Kitchener.

Ollie was using a pole fishing for silvers with a light setup and elastic when the carp struck.

After a mammoth effort and what seemed like forever they managed to net it.

Dad Mike estimated the weight of the carp to be 6-7lb and said Ollie was one happy boy.

After the Sunday morning work party at Hurston Lane Fishery, bailiff Dan Bolton decided to have a couple of hours fishing on the Tench Pond instead of going straight home.

The disturbance of the work party didn’t appear to have affected the fishing because after catching a few Rudd his red maggot hookbait was picked up by this superb 5lb tench.

A just reward for your hard work Dan, well done!

Phillip Blunsum had this Club Record equalling Barbel of 18lb 6oz at Watersfield just before the end of the season when the river had fined down after all the flooding.

It was a warm evening and the temperatures were rising when the specimen picked up his double 12mm pellet and paste hookbait.

Ben Sharman was hoping it was one of the specimen Barbel that frequent our stretch of the River Arun at Watersfield when he had a run on one of his brand new hand built rods.

But it was this 6lb+ Bream that christened Ben’s new rod when it picked up his boilie hookbait.

It is a new Arun Bream PB for Ben so he wasn’t too disappointed.

Stephen Gray was a little disappointed when he lost a good fish in some inside snags on his latest visit to a flooded River Rother. However this 14lb 4oz specimen soon put a smile back on his face.

Stephen has had an amazing season and this fish comes just a week after he landed his 16lb 7oz PB from the same venue.

Dan Bolton got a surprise when this Goldfish took his pinkie hookbait in the middle of a productive session on Stemps Pond earlier this month.

Fishing Peg 1 Dan had a reasonable bag of Skimmers and Roach, pinkie being the prominent bait on the day.

Steve Warner caught this 5lb 6oz Chub whilst long trotting maggot using a forty year old centre pin matched with a modern 15ft float rod.

Steve is no stranger to specimen fish from the Arun, having had Barbel to 17lb 3oz and Roach to just under 3lb in the last couple of seasons.
