Anglers and Cattle

Below is some timely common sense advice on how to deal with the cattle you may encounter whilst fishing some of our river venues.

Anglers entering any fields where there are cattle should note that many may be with calves at this time of year which they are anxious to protect, please take extra care in these circumstances.

If they appear threatening we suggest you leave, do not run but walk slowly, in most cases cattle are only curious but if in any doubt please consider fishing elsewhere.

Please ensure you leave gates as you found them. Cattle quieten down as the year progresses but please be careful at all times.
