You may remember we reported a couple of months ago that Rother veteran Martin Cornish had broken his Barbel PB with a fantastic fish of 13lb 12oz from the River Rother. Unfortunately Martin was fishing alone at the time and consequently he only had a photo of the fish lying on his unhooking mat. Martin vowed after that to get himself with a camera set up capable of taking self portraits in the hope he could beat his PB again. He didn’t quite manage to do that with this fish but considering how very low the water levels are in the Rother at the moment Martin was very pleased to pose with this 12lb beauty below. Martin caught the specimen during a short 3 hour evening session on 1st October.
Incidentally, although Martin has taken advantage of his new camera set up down on the Wye he didn’t need it for the shot below as Steve (the biker angler), who was the only other person on the river bank at the time, kindly acted as photographer this time.
