Chris Humphry Charity Barbel Fish-In

September 28th sees our Annual Barbel Fish‐In. This charity event held in memory of Chris Humphry, a passionate angler who loved his Barbel fishing, particularly on the Rother at Coultershaw.  The main object is to raise money for this year’s charity which is nominated by Lynnette Humphry – Chris’s widow; the angling objective is to catch a Barbel, and a trophy is awarded to the angler (if there is one!) who catches the best Barbel on the day. Finally, it is a chance to enjoy a day on the river at Coultershaw with like-minded anglers.

Lynnette, comes along to meet with the anglers and hopefully to present the trophy to the winner, at the end of the day.

Last year we held the event in July, and although we did have a winner of the trophy, the river levels were very low and conditions were not the best. We have decided to move to the end of September this year, when we will hopefully find a bit more water in the river, the weather will be kind to us, and we will be able to fish in a little bit (but not too much) autumn sunshine into a pleasant balmy evening.
