Peter Foster is an angler familiar to many of our Members who fish the River Rother. Peter has featured many times on our website with his catches and once held the Rother Barbel record. He underlined his credentials as a specimen angler by winning the recent Southern Angler Specialist of the Year competition. This event, which took the form of a  ‘species hunt’, was held at Pallington Lakes in Dorset and included a short session on the adjacent River Frome.

Pictured below are some of the fish that helped Peter to victory. The larger Grayling of two and a quarter pounds was caught on trotted single red maggot and the smaller one on a dendrobena. There will be a fuller account in the next newsletter.
