Coultershaw Closure

Coultershaw will be closed from Tuesday 16th September to Thursday 18th September while gravel is being put into the river onto the riffle area. During that period that is absolutely no access to the venue as there will be heavy plant operating up and down the bank. Whilst this work is going on we can also expect some effect downstream in particular changes in turbidity (water colour) as fining wash out of the gravel. The project finish is estimated and it is possible that the work will over run. If this is the case we will have to close the venue on Friday 19th September …. watch this space.

After completing this work the estate are moving upstream for a similar operation on the Rotherbridge section (above Coultershaw Mill) so again changes in turbidity are again to be expected.
