News Report
Fellow club members it is with great regret that we have to announce that we have been unable to secure our fishing rights at Watersfield. We had comprehensive discussions with the new owners and were initially hopeful, but, they have informed us that their current plans for the land will not work with angling and they have therefore not offered us a licence. We have asked them to keep us in mind should their plans change.
We apologise to all our members old and new and in particular those that have fished this stretch of the Arun over many years – we know that it is very disappointing, but, unfortunately there is nothing we can do and we have to respect the decision of the new owners. We wish them every success with their new venture.
In the meantime we are carrying out a detailed survey of the Arun from Stopham down to Arundel to see if we can identify any other bits of the river that we could take on. Our knowledge is by no means complete and if any of the regular Arun anglers can point us in the direction of any stretches that have potential, please let us know and we will look at them.
