This match for committee members, bailiffs and regular matchmen incorporated the Bailiffs Trophy and also the Ottaway Cup as well as the Committee Cup. Bernies has been a regular venue for this match and the anglers were equally split between the two sides of the lake. It had been colder overnight and with bright sunshine to start with this put the fish off. However it clouded over and the carp began to feed. Normally we do not put the corner swims in but this time it was decided to put two diagonally opposite in. Interestingly most of the fish caught were carp with very few silverfish caught.
In first place was Gary Collins who caught 6 carp in total weighing 28-12-0- one was caught on the feeder and the rest on the pole fishing the main track. Gary was fishing in the corner swim at the car park end of the solar farm bank. Gary won the Ottaway trophy part of the match.
Vince Herringshaw had been struggling and decided to bait his swim, next to Gary, and then go for a wander around the lake chatting to the anglers. On his return the carp had turned up and he ended up with 7 carp for 23-13-8 for second place.
Mick Greenway was fishing in the opposite diagonal corner swim to Gary and caught 10 carp for 22-10-0 on the pole using meat or paste as bait. Mick won the Bailiffs trophy.
Keith Hughes with 21-11-8 won the Committee Cup.
