Match Report
Although originally scheduled as a silver fish only match, it was felt that the weather during the preceding week could put the silver fish down so it was therefore decided to make this one of our renowned combination matches where you have to catch both silvers and Carp. The ground was pretty boggy particularly beyond the bunker so we pegged along the bunker straight as far as the bunker and also some of the roadside pegs so we were fairly evenly split either side of the bridge. Although we had a visitor who insisted upon walking backwards and forwards over the bridge a few times during the match (this normally puts the fish off) the pegs either side of the bridge produced first and second place.
In first place, fishing the first swim in the bunker straight was Keith who had 10lb 4oz of Carp and found some of the better skimmers to give a silvers net of 11lb 7oz for a total of 19 points. On the other side of the bridge Phil also found some good skimmers and a couple of Carp his 8lb 6oz of silvers and 7lb 3oz of Carp was good for second place. Next to Phil was Paul Ward who had 13lb 3oz of Carp and 4lb 13oz of silvers for third place
