Our last match of 2019 saw 9 hardy fellows brave the rain, wind and the mud to fish Bernies Match lake. The heavy rain of past days sadly didn’t relent and the day was constantly interrupted by heavy showers and strong winds. Because of the conditions it was decided that we should all go on the ‘solar panel’ bank as we would at least have the weather coming from behind us and with a brolley set up we should be able to keep reasonably dry.
Paul had this sewn up after about the first hour or so with five Carp on dobbed bread in quick succession. At that point (as the rain had abated) he had a leisurely stroll to see how everyone else was doing and then went back and caught a couple more plus a few silver fish for a total of 30lb 8oz. Next to Paul was Mick who found a three Carp and a few silver fish for 10lb 7oz. Keith had one small Carp and a decent net of silver fish for 6lb 6oz for third place.
