A very wet and windy day was in store for us, and very few had booked in so we offered spaces to the Sportsman club as they had to cancel their Match on the river Arun due to the flooding. The brave souls who turned out were pegged around the basin part of the lake so everyone had around the same depth of water and a bit of space to play with.
Mick in peg 5 just fished short of his left and right with maggot and had a steady flow of fish for most of the match. His 66lb 5oz was just enough for first place.
In second place just behind Mick was Keith who drew peg 3. He started at 10m fishing corn had a few small carp and then the Skimmers moved in. He then started a new line closer to the Island fishing dead maggot over groundbait and never looked back catching fish for the rest of the match. His total was 65lb 13oz
In third place was Paul Chatfield a guest from the Sportsman he drew peg 12 had a very slow start but found fish in the 2nd half of the match to his left in the margin. His total weight was 43lb 9oz
