Match Report

The last match of the season was an away day held at Passies Match Lake. For the first time in 2026, the forecast predicted a dry day with just a gentle breeze.

We pegged the road bank from one platform back from the corner down to the big tree on the opposite bank with no gaps to keep things equal. A lot of work has been done around the match lake over the winter. A new path has been laid almost all the way around and most of the far bank growth has been cut down to bank level, it looks much better for it.

Fishing started slowly for many of us but Adrian in the far end peg and Cody in peg 2 were seen catching a few carp. This trend continued throughout the whole match with only a few Carp showing along with Silvers for most anglers. When the weight was added, Cody showed his ability to win at this type of venue.

This was the last match of the season and after totting up all the scores we found that we have had the closest season for a long time.

With two anglers on equal top club points and only one point between 3rd & 4th.

Only 2 points separated 2nd and 3rd in the matchman points.

There was less than 2lb separating 2nd and 3rd in the weights.
