Ten anglers turned out for the BBQ match in really horrendous conditions. It rained pretty much all day, which given that the EA had just issued a drought warning to clubs was rather ironic. Anyway with 10 anglers we decided to put 5 on each pond.
Nelson drew peg 16 on Cart pond and immediately knew what he would do fish into the corner on a rod and line. His tactics proved successful as he managed to get 8 carp out for 24 – 9 – 0 and first place.
Vince fished peg 2 on cart pond and had 4 carp from close to the island for 12lb. Vince did also lose a couple which were quite sizeable and might have given Nelson a close run. Vince also had 3 – 6 – 0 of bits and these with the carp gave him 15 – 6 – 0 for 2nd place. Keith fished peg 24 on Cart pond and fished close to the island for a mixed bag of 7 – 5 – 0 for 3rd place overall.
A very recently returned from holiday Steve Simmonds provided the BBQ in the car park and a good day was had by all despite the weather
