Match Report
12 anglers turned out for the first match of the new season fished at Petworth Park. On what proved to be a wet and windy day. Alongside the familiar faces were one or two new anglers and we hope that we might see them through the season.
The middle of the road around the concrete block proved to be the place to draw with first and second coming from that area being separated by just two ounces.
John Williams was drawn on the concrete block and fished the pole for the whole match, John had mainly bream for 35 – 0 – 0 to just take first place.
Next to John was Steve Speller who alternated between the pole and feeder and had a couple of tench with his bream, Steve was just behind John with 34 – 14 – 0 for second place.
Tucked round behind the island Steve Hanson decided on a novel approach and fished paste on the waggler. The tactic paid off as he had crucians and carp for 23 – 2 – 0 and third place.
