Match Report

The second leg of the Caine Cup, fished at Petworth Park, was again fished under dry, sunny, warm conditions with little or no wind. Any wind was blowing towards the island. One angler was pegged at the left end of the island with the others pegged along the roadside bank. Interestingly there were several bigger fish caught close in during the match.

John Ritter, fishing behind the island caught 11 bream and a crucian carp on the feeder to easily win the match with 40-9-0.

Gary Collins, who had not weighed in in the first leg, was fishing to the right of the concrete slab. He caught 7 bream weighing 27-14-0 to take second place. He also used a feeder.

Cody Hughes, fishing the swim before the big tree with his Granddad Keith, used the top 5 sections of his pole to net a bream plus bits to weigh in 8-4-0. He also lost 2 other other big fish. Keith caught a tench close in under the tree but did not see any bream.

Gary had 7 bream for 2nd place

The overall winner of the Caine Cup with two wins ( 20 points) was John Ritter from Cody Hughes with 14 points.
