Match Report
Stemps pond was the venue for our Christmas Match the last match of 2024 on what was forecast to be a mild but cloudy day. We had poor turn out for this due to winter illness and Brighton playing Crystal Palace at home (bet they wish they had come fishing). We used the better pegs but with the sudden rise in air pressure the fishing turned out to be very hard with the Carp not playing the game.
Keith on Peg 8 started fishing bomb and bread or Corn to the island and had two bites in the first two hours resulting in one small Carp. He then switched to a short pole line that he had loose fed with maggots he started to catch small Roach and Skimmers before another switch to the edge and in the last hour had two more small Carp. His total weight of 7lb 5oz was good for first place.
Nick fishing in peg 1 also had 1 small Carp in the first couple of hours fishing a small method in open water on corn, he also had small Roach on a short line. a total of 4lb 7oz gave him second place.
No Carp for the the others who only had silver fish with some better Roach and Perch.
